Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital of Wilmington, currently under construction in Wilmington, NC, will expand the Points East Veterinary Group’s commitment to delivering advanced emergency and specialty care across eastern North Carolina. Anticipated to open in fall 2026, this 17,000-square-foot facility is designed to support 24/7 emergency services, specialty surgery, and advanced diagnostic imaging for pets and referring veterinarians throughout the Cape Fear region.

Thoughtfully planned with collaboration and future growth in mind, the Wilmington hospital will feature modern surgical and treatment spaces, advanced imaging capabilities, and room for expansion as services continue to develop. As with all Points East locations, Wilmington will operate under a shared standard of care, ensuring families and veterinary partners can expect a consistent, high-quality experience close to home.

Boarded Specialty Surgery

Our board-certified veterinary surgeons offer advanced surgical care for pets who need specialized procedures. Whether a surgery is planned or required urgently, our highly trained surgeons and support team provide treatment options that are only available through a boarded surgeon. We partner closely with your primary veterinarian to ensure collaborative communication and a personalized plan for every patient.

Melissa Stoll, DVM

Dr. Melissa Stoll received her DVM degree from Texas A&M University in 1997 where she graduated cum laude. One year later she completed her medical and surgical internship at Kansas State University. In 2001, Dr. Stoll completed her surgical residency at University of Missouri, where she also underwent additional training and certification to perform TPLO surgeries. In 2003, Dr. Stoll completed the board certification process to become a Diplomate and specialist in the field of veterinary surgery.

After the completion of her residency, Dr. Stoll stayed on faculty at the University of Missouri for a year. In 2002, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri and spent the next five years working for a high-volume specialty hospital. Dr. Stoll moved to coastal NC in January 2007 where she practiced at a referral hospital in Wilmington. In March 2015, Dr. Stoll started CCVSS as a way to provide specialty surgery to you and your pet in a familiar setting.

Paige Harrington, DVM

Points East Veterinarian Partner

With strong family ties to North Carolina, Dr. Harrington came to NC, after growing up in New York, to attend NCSU for both her Zoology BS and Veterinary Medicine degrees. After an internship in Charleston, SC, Dr. Harrington joined a growing ER-Specialty practice in Wilmington working there for seven years.

Dr. Harrington moved to Greenville when her husband started graduate school at ECU joining the Pet Emergency Clinic, now Points East Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Greenville, in 2012. Dr. Harrington has worked with Vets Pets as the Medical Director of Emergency & Referral Services since 2016. She works with the teams of Points East Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Fayetteville, Points East Veterinary Emergency Hospital of Greenville, and Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Wilson. Dr. Harrington enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time at the beach with her husband and two children.
